Clause 5.6.3 Review output

The output of review must be recorded. Record (Refer 5.6.1) the decisions and actions finalized during review. The decisions and actions may be related to:




  • improvement of QMS and its processes


  • improvement of product


  • resource needs

Record actions needed, assign responsibilities, fix a target date for completion, and decide date of follow-up to determine the status. Follow-up actions must be taken to ensure that the actions determined during review are implemented effectively. These actions shall form part of input for next management review.


When the year 2000 edition of the standard was at the draft stage of development it was considered to allow appointment of more than one management representative, keeping in line with ISO 14001; Environment management system standard but the provision is not found in the definitive standard. Why? In the world of democracy decisions based on majority support and ISO standards are published after being voted by its member countries.
